Villani is a visual and musical artist residing in Valparaiso, IN. He has been studying music since 2003 and has a wide range of musical styles. After briefly studying artistic principles at Columbia College, he studied Literature, Education, and History and earned a degree with Purdue University.
Since then, Sergijoe has worked on honing and refining his work, craftsmanship, and style, and has continued to perform music in venues across Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan for more than 20 years. He has performed live at many of the NWI region's most prestigious venues, town festivals, local theaters, casinos, and distilleries, and recently performed at the Indiana Dunes Pavilion rooftop.
Sergijoe & The Glass Ocean
Formed as a passion project in late 2024, The Glass Ocean is a collaborative music group dreamt up and formed by band leader Sergijoe Villani. Steeped in the sounds and influence of Jazz Fusion, The Glass Ocean is comprised of Joe Villani (Lead Vocals & Guitar), Matt Pruim (Keyboard & Synthizer), Billy Pouch (Bass Guitar), and Chris Peffers (Drums). This group of diverse players have been honing their musicianship since they were young kids and have decades of combined experience in music of all corners of the sonic spectrum.
Some notable influences of The Glass Ocean are the Jazz greats Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, and Wes Montgomery. However, their affinity for progressive & vintage rock shines through with songs like Led Zeppelin’s, “Achilles Last Stand”, and Rush’s, “La Villa Strangiato”, while also paying homage to the songwriting giants of the ’60s and ’70s, such as Neil Young, Marvin Gaye, The Zombies, and Jackson Browne. These influences, paired with their own unique interpretations, leave audiences yelling out, “ONE MORE!” at the end of every gig.
